Define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for the Business Platform to help ensure that the digital products of the Business Platform are fit for their intended purpose.
Organisational Context
Business Platforms take ownership of digitally supporting a related set of business processes by providing a set of matching digital products. The Director of Product and Director of Technology take accountability for the business impact generated by the business platform. The business platform is organized in product teams which take care of the digital products that are in scope for the business platform.
The Platform Architect captures the architectural tasks and responsibilities that are covered in the business platform. In platforms with a sufficiently skilled Director of Technology that is familiar with the domain and application landscape and a Software Engineering population that is mature enough, the accountabilities and responsibilities are assigned to the Director of Technology who will often delegate part of the architecture responsibilities and tasks to Engineering Leaders and/or Software Engineers. In cases where the Director of Technology is new to the domain and/or unfamiliar with the application landscape, the Platform Architect job can be assigned to a dedicated person that supports the Director of Technology, Engineering Leaders and Software Engineers. The Director of Technology remains accountable!
The Platform Architect constructs the platform target architecture roadmap (themes and epics), maintains overview of technical capabilities across the platform, supports teams in designing the architecture of products and identifies relevant technologies for platform development or architectural simplification. The Platform Architect adapts and Implements the enterprise architecture principles in the platform architecture and contributes to changes in the enterprise architecture principles. With Epic Owner, the Platform Architect act as a subject matter expert to determine the relevance of its platform to deliver business product's value proposition The Platform Architect job reports to the Director of Technology.

This Department is under a move to Cloud in which people with Cloud Service Providers experience are highly welcome (Azure, or GCP).
Within the domain there are multiple projects, from different but limited technology stacks (Java, Python, Angular).
This job will require you to wear many hats on several layers (Software Applications, (Cloud) Infrastructure.
You will need to help the teams to navigate through the existing enterprises process; Creating architecture design, architecture documentation, get build permits and permits to operate on behalf of the teams to get integrations and medium/large size changes approved, create ADRS (Architecture Decision Records), manage stakeholders to create awareness of the changes, and keep documentation/designs up-to-date. You will be responsible for the overall and detailed application architecture of the future landscape for this department. You will need to work with mainly , but not only in-house built products.

What do you need to be successful
- Good communication skills and stakeholder management
- Familiar with Architecture Tooling and Designs, Experienced in EA/Sparx, Archimate
- Experience with Tactical as well as Solution Architecture as you will be designing an eco-system as well as all the components within;
- Go getter attitude; You are independent and have the energy to help teams navigating through enterprise processes
- Multiple years of experience in one or multiple computer programming languages (Python, Java)
- Experience with APIs, Message Brokers, Event Streaming, Layered architecture
What will make your profile stand-out
- 5+ years of experience as an IT architect in an IT environment focused on development;
- Knowledge of and experience with: Experience with at least one Cloud Service Provider (Azure or GCP), JAVA development, Mobile solutions and technological developments;
- SOA, EDA, TOGAF, Archimate and SAFe (Setting up solution architectures);
- More than one software engineering language.
