Function Design Engineer - Aftertreatment OBD
De functieFor heavy duty diesel / hydrogen engines and aftertreatments, take the lead in development of OBD / OBM related control concepts (i.e. System level requirements for software functionality);
- Support creating development plans for necessary control updates related to OBD regulation;
- Collaboration with internal teams (OBD calibration, Validation team, Compliance,..)
- Create diagnostic concepts for new OBD requirements
- Analyze regulatory requirement, Impact analysis;
- Create diagnostic concepts and verify concept;
- Provide clear requirements for further OBD SW development process;
- Evaluate supplier capability demonstration of OBD concepts, provide improvement feedback;
- Support calibration engineers with pre calibration of new controller concepts;
- Play a key role as an integrator between suppliers and PACCAR internal stakeholders to develop the control concepts on OBD/OBM monitoring.
- Support Principle Engineers for CARB discussions (analysis, strategy, simulation)
- OBD Impact analysis for new Hardware changes or Control Strategies
Within PACCAR, Engine Development is the center of competence for heavy duty diesel and hydrogen engine and aftertreatment systems. Within the Engine Development department, the System Function Design team is responsible for defining new engines and aftertreatment systems including emissions, OBD and diagnostics. To support the growth in projects and technology development, we are looking for a well-qualified.

- MSc degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering;
- Experience in Exhaust Emission or OBD development cycle including control development;
- Good understanding of OBD performance capability aspects (Robustness and IUMPR);
- Experience on emission/OBD data analytics (engine, vehicle fleet);
- Able to lead a technical team and cope with suppliers for OBD matter;
- Experience on Six Sigma related processes
- i.e. DMAIC, Design For Six Sigma, FMEA, Monte Carlo
- Good knowledge of requirement engineering process;
- Knowledge of tools like Matlab, Simulink and DNG is a pre;
- Good English skills are mandatory and Dutch skills are a pre;
