To strengthen the team,., located in Pernis, is looking for an experienced and flexible all-round Propulsion Engineer. This role is challenging and requires the ability to independently perform inspections and service work both locally and internationally.
We specialize in the repair and maintenance of, among others, propeller shaft installations, gearboxes, steering machines, azimuth thrusters, and controllable pitch propeller systems from various manufacturers.
Duties & Responsibilities- Inspect, troubleshoot, assess, and resolve malfunctions (independently and in teams)
- Overhaul and maintain onboard ship systems in both mechanical and hydraulic areas
- Implement modifications and provide advice on necessary repairs
- Commission repaired and/or overhauled installations
- Prepare reports
- Assess and prepare for the tasks to be performed
- MBO level 4 work and thinking level, preferably obtained through a completed technical education in Mechanical Engineering / Marine Engineering or demonstrable work experience
- Work experience in a relevant environment is a plus
- A valid driver's license B(E) and preferably a VCA VOL certificate
- Flexibility in working hours; willing to work both locally and internationally for shorter or longer periods (irregular hours)
- Proactive, independent, responsible, communicative, result-oriented, people- and customer-focused, and able to perform necessary tasks both independently and in teams
- Willingness to periodically undertake training to expand knowledge and skills
