We are seeking an experienced AWS Solution Architect to guide our transformation to an event-driven architecture. You will oversee several teams that develop bounded contexts using AWS native technologies (serverless, Fargate) in TypeScript. Your role is critical in aligning business needs with technical solutions, ensuring that our architecture is cost efficient, maintainable, and aligned with Essent's strategic goals. 

Business Analysis & Architecture:

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners to translate business requirements into actionable features.
• Define enabler features for execution on both architectural and operational levels.
• Work closely with stakeholders to define and promote business, data, and IT architecture.
• Co-define Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) with business and IT stakeholders, enabling privacy and security by design.
• Support SREs in translating recommendations for availability, stability, and performance into solution designs.
• Ensure infrastructure considerations are integrated into DevOps architecture guidelines.
• Architect with agility, embedding DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting in current and future architectures.

Delivery:

• Oversee the implementation of features from the Program Kanban.
• Foster principles of Built-In Quality, Shift Left, and Team & Technical Agility.
• Support Agile teams in implementing ART enablers to evolve solution behavior.
• Participate in SAFe events like PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt sessions.

Design:

• Define systems and interfaces, guiding solution design decisions through technical trade-offs.
• Collaborate with System Engineers and Enterprise Architects to align solution implementations with the architectural vision.
• Define best practices supporting the architecture in collaboration with community leads.

Qualifications: Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT architecture, particularly in dynamic business environments.
• In-depth knowledge of IT architecture frameworks, methods, and tools (e.g., ArchiMate, UML).
• Expertise in Domain-Driven Design and event-driven architectures is essential.
• Strong experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
• Familiarity with the energy sector is a plus.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication skills in Dutch. German is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, with experience in functionally leading groups of 10 or more.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisive, informed decisions.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
